Bringing You The Best of Local and National Talent

Purbeck Folk Club aims to bring you events throughout the year with local musicians as well as those from across the country. Our events are usually held on the first Thursday of the month.

The Club (no membership required) is held at
Langton Matravers Village Hall (opposite the church)
High Street, BH19 3HA.

For details of our next event, see below. If you’d like to join the mailing list for our newsletter, you can do so here.

Purbeck Folk Club is not-for-profit. Our aim is to keep music live in the community.

Next Event

Our next event on the 5th December will feature The Well, who hail from Burley in the New Forest and Bournemouth.

The Well are creative spirits with very different artistic and cultural backgrounds who have formed an enthusiastic and sympathetic friendship making music they describe as alt-folk.  Initially put together for a single event, through recommendation and word of mouth they’ve continued to play and build their sound and repertoire around the original songs of their main writer Rich Hale.  Rich is a former singer and writer for chill-out group Kinobe, while Philip Starnier and Philipp Stummer have enjoyed successful and rewarding careers in acting and contemporary dance respectively before returning to their own musical roots.

Also joining us will be Happy Mouth from Purbeck. Their songs come very much from the English folk tradition of the late 60s and 70s and are inspired by the likes of John Martin, Bert Jansch, and Nick Drake.

For further details see the poster to the right.
